According to the charity, 8 swans have died at the bridge so far this year, compared with 3 in 2025 and 8 in 2024.
Kildare Wildlife Rescue is calling for action after reporting that at least 17 swans have died following collisions with Dublin's Samuel Beckett Bridge since 2024.
According to the charity, eight swans have died at the bridge so far this year, compared with three in 2025 and eight in 2024.
Wildlife First Responder Andrea Porter says the birds are colliding with the bridge's cables, often suffering injuries so severe that they cannot be saved.
The charity believes the incidents are most likely during high tide, when rising water levels leave less space for swans to fly beneath the bridge.
It also fears the actual number of deaths may be higher, as not ever collision is reported.
Kildare Wildlife Rescue is now calling for an investigation into the problem, including measures to make the cables more visible and prevent further collisions.
