Joey Carbery has been named to start for Ireland in Sunday's Six Nations visit of Italy to Dublin.

Ulster's Michael Lowry will earn his first cap at fullback, with the 23-year-old joined by Mack Hansen and the returning James Lowe.

Andy Farrell has made six personnel changes in all, with Leinster pair Dan Sheehan and Ryan Baird also selected for their first starts in the Championship.

Captain Peter O'Mahony and Robbie Henshaw are the other players back into the fold after the defeat in Paris last time out.

Eadestown's Tadhg Beirne is also down to start.
