The former Wales boss is understood to have met FAI officials with a view to taking the job

Chris Coleman has emerged as a leading contender to succeed Stephen Kenny as Republic of Ireland senior men's team manager.

The former Wales boss is understood to have met FAI officials with a view to taking the job.

Coleman guided his native country to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

His last involvement in management was with Greek club Atromitos, where he was in charge until October of last year.
