Jim McGuinness' side will play Monaghan on Saturday
Donegal GAA say it is 'most regrettable and very disappointing' that their request for their All-Ireland football quarter-final to take place on Sunday was turned down.
In a statement released last night, Donegal said they had requested a Sunday fixture having played eight games in an 11-week window.
However, their match against Monaghan will take place next Saturday at Croke Park.
Donegal say they are of the belief that the welfare of their players was 'not adequately considered in the decision making process.'
