Ireland are due to face Israel twice in September and October.
Republic of Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson says he does not support boycotting this autumn's Nations League fixtures against Israel, warning it could have serious sporting consequences for Irish football.
Ireland are due to face Israel twice in September and October, with growing pressure on the FAI to refuse to play the fixtures.
Hallgrimsson said any boycott could result in Ireland being handed defeats, damaging their chances in the group and potentially effecting qualification routes for future tournaments.
The Icelandic coach stressed that he understands and respects the concerns being raised by supporters, but believes decisions on issues should be made by football's governing bodies and political leaders rather than players and coaches.
He added that any player who chose not to take part in the matches would have their decision respected.
