Ireland's Men And Women Hockey Teams Book Their Spot At This Year's World Cup

Ireland will be competing at the finals this summer for the first time in eight years.

Ireland's women's hockey team booked their spot at this year's World Cup after as 3-1 penalty shootout over Japan in Santiago, Chile.

Goalkeeper Elizabeth Murphy was the hero whilst Sarah Hawkshaw, Hannah McLoughlin, and Jessica McMaster all converted.

Ireland's men's hockey team are heading to World Cup after finishing their qualifying tournament with a 100 per cent record.

Gregory Williams hit the net twice in a 2-1 victory over France in Chile last night.

Ireland will be competing at the finals this summer for the first time in eight years.
