It's day one of the Amgen Irish Open at Royal County Down.

Ireland's Simon Thornton is currently tied for the lead.

He's 3 under after four holes of his opening round, alongside Nicolai Hojgaard of Denmark.

Padraig Harrington, Seamus Power, Gary Hurley and amateur Max Kennedy are all 1 under par in their rounds.

Shane Lowry tees off at 12.40, and at 1pm, Rory McIlroy begins his attempt to win a second Irish Open in the company of fellow Holywood pro Tom McKibbin and last year's winner Vincent Norrman of Sweden.

Teenage amateur Sean Keeling tees off at 2.20.
