The English RFU confirmed yesterday the club would be kicked out of the top tier.

London Irish have filed for administration after being suspended from rugby union's Premiership.

The English RFU confirmed yesterday the club would be kicked out of the top tier, following the collapse of a takeover by an American consortium.

Owner Mick Crossan says administration was always a "last resort" and is something he "bitterly" regrets.

The Club can confirm that staff, players, and coaches were informed via email, on behalf of owner Mick Crossan, that London Irish has been placed into administration. pic.twitter.com/eta9U6e2YI
