The Republic of Ireland squad will be based in Brisbane at next year's Women's World Cup.

Ireland play the co-hosts, Australia, in their first Group B match on July 20th in Sydney.

Followed by a game against Canada in Perth six days later, and then Nigeria in Brisbane on July 31st.

Bohemians defender Ciaran Kelly has agreed a deal to join Bradford City.

The 24-year-old moves to the League Two club on a contract until the summer of 2025.

Bradford is managed by Mark Hughes

Manchester City are to explore the possibility of expanding the capacity of the Etihad Stadium to more than 60,000.

The work, if it goes ahead, would make the Eastlands venue the fifth in the Premier League capable of holding at least 60,000 - after Old Trafford, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Emirates Stadium and London Stadium.

The ground's present limit is 53,400

Goals from Naomi Carroll and Katie Mullan helped Sean Dancer's side to a 2-1 win over Italy.

Ireland - who lost to Spain yesterday - play Korea in their final Pool A match on Wednesday.

Former Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham is to become the new manager of the Portarlington senior footballers.

The Galway native - who also managed his home county's hurlers - will be ratified at a club meeting tonight.

Portarlington are the current Laois senior football champions.
