Reigning champions Limerick will play Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Hurling final in two week’s time.

Yesterday, they beat Galway by 0-27 to 1-21, a game in which the sides were level 10 times.

Limerick are going for three in a row titles, a feat they last achieved in 1935, before making it four in a row the next year.

 

Cork are on the lookout for a new hurling manager.

Kieran Kingston has stepped down, bringing an end to his second stint in charge.

The Rebels lost to Galway in this year's All-Ireland quarter-final.

Naas and Athy will contest the EMS Copiers Senior Football League Division 1 Final.

In yesterday’s semi finals: 

County Champions Naas 3-12 Raheens, last year’s Division 1 League winners, 0-11.

Athy 1-13  Sarsfields 1-10.

The final is fixed for next Sunday, 10th July at 1pm in St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge.

 

Leixlip are EMS Copiers Senior Football League Division 2 champions after their 0-16 to 1-6 over Johnstownbridge.

In the other games in Division 2, wins for Round Towers and Two Mile House relegated Monasterevin.

Div 2 results:

Kilcock 1-10 Kilcullen 1-9

Two Mile House 1-16 Clogherinkoe 0-18

Round Towers 3-10 Ballymore Eustace 1-2

Those wins for Two Mile House and Round Towers moved them onto 12 points each, meaning Monasterevin on 11 points are relegated (along with Ballymore).

 

Yesterday's Division 3 results:

Sallins 2-7 St. Kevin’s 1-7

Allenwood 2-10 Rathangan 1-7

Caragh walk over from Nurney

Ballyteague walkover from Suncroft

Sallins top the table on 23 points from Allewood 20, St. Kevins 16.

Sallins and Allenwood will play the Div 3 Final in Manguard Plus Hawkfield, Pitch 1, next Friday at 8pm

Cappagh 2-10 Athgarvan 0-15

Ballykelly 2-6 Rathcoffey 0-11

 

In Saturday’s UPMC Senior Hurling Championship Preliminary Round,

Maynooth beat Ardclough by a point:  0-28 to 3-18, after extra time.

Clane 4-12 Confey 2-11

Adrian Meronk says it's an 'unbelievable feeling' to be the Irish Open champion.

In the women's singles, world number four Paula Badosa goes up against Simona Halep.

RUGBY

Ireland captain Johnny Sexton will complete the Head Injury Assessment process today.

He was replaced in Saturday's loss to New Zealand - but could still feature in next weekend's second test.
