GAA

Kildare Football champions Athy, Sallins and Grangnolvin all advance to the Leinster quarter finals.

Yesterday, in the AIB Leinster Club Senior Football Championship,  Athy 3-16 Baltinglass 0-10
 
Playing against the wind, Athy led 1-7 to 0-6 at half time
 
Athy's goals by James McGrath and one in each half from Ronan Kelly who was player of the match.

In the quarter final: Athy will be home to Summerhill of Meath who beat Longford champions Emmets Killoe yesterday. 

On Saturday, in the AIB Leinster Intermediate Football Championship, Sallins 5-21  Grange 0-7 

Sallins are into the quarter final and will  be away to Kilbride of Meath on November 15th

Also on Saturday, in theAIB Leinster Club Junior Football Championship Grangenolvin 1-16  St. Brigids Croghan  1-7

Grangenolvin will be at home to Wexford's Cloughbawn, also on November 15th.  

This morning's Kildare Today, with Hannah Kelly will review the games, while this evening's Kildare Scoreboard will have manager and player interviews from the three games

Maynooth are Minor Hurling A champions.  In yesterdays final, they beat Celbridge by 2 points: 3-18 to 4-13

Attention turns to Leinster championship hurling next weekend.  Kildare senior champions Naas will be away to Carlow champions Mount Leinster Rangers in Dr. Cullen Park.

Kfm will have commentary of the game in association with Liam Moloney Solicitors, Naas. 

 

SOCCER

Manchester City have moved up to second in the Premier League with a 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth - who drop down to fourth in the table.

Erling Haaland scored twice for City.

West Ham beat Newcastle 3-1 to secure their first win under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

 

Bray Wanderers will play Waterford for a place in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division next season.

The Seagulls scored late to beat Treaty United in yesterday's First Division playoff.

 

Celtic are into the final of the Scottish League Cup after beating rivals Rangers 3-1 in extra time at Hampden Park.

They'll play St Mirren in the final.

 

RACING

Dylan Browne McMonagle is the champion Irish flat jockey for the first time.

The Donegal jockey took the title following yesterday's action at the Curragh.

It finished off a nice weekend for him after winning the Breeders Cup Turf for trainer Willie Mullins on Ethical Diamond at Del Mar on Saturday night.
 

This evening's Kildare Scoreboard will have manager and player interviews from the three games, along with the rest of the weekend Kildare sport, soccer, rugby, Women's Superleague baskektball and racing.
