The Kildare minor ladies footballers lost their All Ireland A Final against Galway yesterday.

Kildare lead by 2 points at half time thanks to an early goal from Maynooth's Aoife Murnane, but two second half goals from Galway's Kate Thompson sealed the victory for the Connacht side.

Full time score at Pearse Park in Longford was Galway 3-11 Kildare 1-8.



Waterford take on Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship final this evening.


Waterford have never won the O'Duffy Cup and last featured in the decider back in 1945.

Cork meanwhile last won in 2018, but were beaten in the last two finals.

Throw-in in at Croke Park is at 5-o'clock.
 

Meath play Derry in the intermediate final from 2:45pm.

Clare take on their Munster rivals Tipperary in the premier Junior decider at 12:50pm.

Rugby

Ireland beat Italy 33 to 17 in their World Cup warm up game at the Aviva Stadium last night.

Man of the match Caelan Doris went over the line twice for Andy Farrell's side with tries too from Dave Kilcoyne, Stuart McCloskey and Cian Healy.

Eadestown's Jimmy O’Brien & Tadhg Beirne were both involved.

Next up Ireland play England in Dublin in their second of these three warm up games.

SOCCER

The Netherlands will play Spain in the quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup after beating South Africa 2-0 in the last-16 overnight.

At 10-o'clock the back-to-back champions the USA will look to avoid an early exit when they play Sweden.

Kick-off at Wembley Stadium is at 4pm.

Leaders Shamrock Rovers are just one point clear of second-placed St. Pat's ahead of their clash with Cork City at Tallaght Stadium.

Kick-off there is at 6-o'clock.

Before that it's fifth against sixth as Dundalk host Shelbourne from 5pm.
