ATHLETICS

Rhasidat Adeleke is among the Irish athletes in action on day two of the World Athletics Championships.

The Tallaght native is set to appear on track for the Women's 400-metres heats shortly after 9am this morning.

After their exploits in the 4 by 400 metres mixed relay last night, Chris O'Donnell and Sharlene Mawdlsey are also due to take to the track for their respective 400-metre events.

With three events to go in the heptathlon event, Kate O'Connor is in 11th place.

Rory McIlroy is in a tie for fifth place on 8 under par going into the final round of the BMW Championship in Illinois.

Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick share top spot on 11 under. =
