Eadestown's Jimmy O'Brien scored the first try for Ireland in their 17-13 win over Samoa.

RUGBY

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell will name his 33 strong squad that will travel to France for the Rugby World Cup this afternoon.

This follows their four point win over Samoa in their final warm-up game in Bayonne last night.

Eadestown's Jimmy O'Brien scored the first try for Ireland after 8 minutes.

An update on the injury which forced Cian Healy off in the first half is also expected today.

Champions Manchester City put their 100% start to the new Premier League season on the line this afternoon.

They go to Bramall Lane to take on newly promoted Sheffield United who are still looking for their first points of this campaign.

Kick-off is at 2-o'clock.

Ireland will contest the 4 by 400 metres Women's relay final at the World Championships in Budapest tonight.

Kelly McGrory, Sharlene Mawdsley, Roisin Harrison and Sophie Becker will represent the Irish when that gets underway at 8:50pm.

Formula One world champion Max Verstappen will go from pole position for his home race for the third year in a row at the Dutch Grand Prix today.

The Red Bull driver set the quickest time ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris and Mercedes driver George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton will start in 13th when the action gets underway at 2-o'clock.
