Intermediate Football Champions to be crowned and it is Camogie County Finals Day

The 2022 Auld Shebeen Bar Athy Intermediate Football Champions should be crowned today.

Ballyteague and Castledermot contest the final at St Conleth’s Park at 3.30.

We will have full match commentary here on KFM.

Ger McNally and Philie Wolfe will describe the action.

 


That will be preceded by Manguard Plus Minor B Football Final

Athy and Clane throw in at Conleth’s at 1.30.

6.15 is the start time for the Joe Fox Plant Hire Reserve A Football Final between Naas and  Athy at Manguard Plus Hawkfield.

Hawkfield is also the venue for Camogie County Finals Day.

Naas and Celbridge will battle it out for the Senior title at 4 o’clock.

Before that Cappagh and Maynooth will play the Intermediate Final.

There will be updates from both of those games on KFM with Seamus Dillon reporting.

The Junior A Final between  Ardclough and  Nurney and the Junior B Final between Celbridge (3rds)  and Clane (2nds) start at 12.00.

While the U23 B Hurling Championship Semi Final between Moorefield and Broadford is down for decision in Moorefield at 4.00.

SOCCER

The first Manchester derby of the Premier League season takes place this afternoon.

Manchester City host Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium from 2pm.

A win for City will see them move back to within a point of leaders Arsenal.

At 4.30 Leeds welcome Aston Villa to Elland Road.

West Ham moved out of the Premier League's bottom three last night.

David Moyes' side were 2-nil winners over Wolves.

Elsewhere yesterday, Graham Potter got his first win as Chelsea boss as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1.

Liverpool played out a 3-all draw with Brighton, while Arsenal beat Tottenham 3-1 in the north London derby.

Newcastle were 4-1 winners over Fulham, Everton enjoyed a 2-1 victory at Southampton and Bournemouth's clash with Brentford finished goalless.

GOLF

Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington head into the final round at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship eight shots off the lead.

Both players are seven-under-par and are set to play together on the final day.

Richard Mansell is the leader on 15-under - he's four shots clear of three players on 11-under.

Today's final round takes place across the Old Course at St Andrews.


RUGBY

Munster earned their first win of the new United Rugby Championship season last night.

Graham Rowntree's side were 21 points to five winners over Zebre at Musgrave Park.

Niall Scannell scored two of the hosts three tries at the Cork venue.


FORMULA ONE

Max Verstappen could win the Formula One Drivers Championship today.

He starts from eighth on the grid at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is on pole, with Sergio Perez starting from second and Lewis Hamilton third.

Verstappen has a 116-point lead at the top of the standings.


RACING

There's an eight-race card at Killarney today, where the first is off at 1pm.

The action at Tipperary is underway 15 minutes later.
