Leading fancies Homeless Songs, Tuesday and History are among the 14 declared runners for the Group 1 Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Sunday.
Homeless Songs will attempt to give Dermot Weld his fifth success in the race, 40 years to the day after the Wally Swinburn-ridden Prince’s Polly secured a third Classic victory for the Curragh trainer in the year after Blue Wind won the Oaks at both Epsom and the Curragh.
Four horses are set to represent Aidan O'Brien with his Newmarket 1,000 Guineas third Tuesday, History, Concert Hall, and Lullaby all lining out.
Also in contention are the Fozzy Stack-trained Hermana Estrella, Joseph O'Brien’s Agartha, the Henry de Bromhead-trained Star Girls Aalmal, Villanova Queen from the Jessica Harrington stable, the Ger Lyons-trained Panama Red and Noel Meade’s Lady Of Inishfree and Jim Bolger’s Freedom Of Speech.
