The 34-year-old made 119 appearances for Ireland and was part of the World Cup squad in Australia.

O'Gorman says she will continue to play for Shamrock Rovers.

Manchester City have had a 47-million pound bid for Matheus Nunes rejected by Wolves.

They're looking to strengthen after playmaker Kevin de Bruyne was ruled out for up to four months with a hamstring injury.

Nunes has made 36 Premier League appearances during his time at Molineux, scoring once.

GOLF

Rory McIlroy has floated the idea of Ireland hosting an elite event sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

The two main tours and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia are set to agree on a new schedule and unify the game, with the finer details still to be determined.

Speaking ahead of the Tour Championship which begins in Atlanta today, McIlroy would like to see the top players on this island.



McIlroy is attempting to win the FedEx Cup for the second year running and he begins his challenge just before 7pm Irish time.


Germany's Alexander Knappe and Finland's Sami Valimaki share the lead on 7 under par on day one of the Czech Masters.

Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington tee off later, while John Murphy is currently 1 under par after 8 holes.

Big-serving American John Isner has announced he'll be retiring from tennis after the US Open.

The 38-year-old holds the record for the most aces with more than 14-thousand-4-hundred.

He's also remembered for a 138-game deciding set against Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon in 2010 during the longest match in history.

A 7 race card at Leopardstown gets underway at 4.35pm.
