GAELIC GAMES

The draws for next season's provincial football championships will take place tonight at Croke Park.

All four provincial councils have come together to hold the draws, which will be broadcast live on the GAA's official channels from 7pm.

The 2026 campaign is due to begin with the return of pre-season competitions in early January.

 

SOCCER

Arsenal are now the only team in this season's league phase in the Champions League with a 100-percent record.

The Gunners beat Bayern Munich by three goals to one last night at the Emirates Stadium to secure a fifth successive win in Europe.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is under further pressure after they slumped to a ninth defeat in 12 matches following a 4-1 loss to PSV at Anfield.

In Paris, Vitinha scored a hat-trick in PSG's 5-3 win over Tottenham.

 

Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers both return to Conference League action tonight.

Shels go up against Troy Parrott's AZ Alkmaar from 5:45pm in the Netherlands.

There's an eight o'clock start at Tallaght Stadium, where Shamrock Rovers play Shakhtar Donetsk.

Both Irish clubs have just a single point from their first three matches.

 

In the Europa League this evening, Aston Villa can pick up their fourth win of the league phase

They play Young Boys at Villa Park, with kick-off at 5:45pm

At the same time, Evan Ferguson could start for Roma in their hosting of Danish club Midtjylland.

And Celtic are on the road to face Robin van Persie's Feyenoord.

At 8pm , Nottingham Forest welcome Malmo to the City Ground, while Rangers play Braga.

 

GOLF

Play has been suspended on day one of the Australian PGA Championship due to the threat of storms in Brisbane.

Spain's Sebastian Garcia leads the way on seven-under-par with three holes of his opening round to complete tomorrow.

 

RACING

There are eight races on today's card at Thurles.

The first goes to post at 11:45am.
