Leinster face Munster in the URC this evening with a Kildare representative on each bench.

RUGBY

Munster head coach Graham Rowntree says he would be happy to trust his younger players in this evening's game against Leinster in the United Rugby Championship.

Donadea's Will Connors is on the bench for Leinster.

While Athy's Jeremy Loughman has been named among the Munster replacements.

Injuries to senior personnel means the likes of Edwin Edogbo, Brian Gleeson and Tony Butler have all seen game time this season for Munster.

Rowntree says he's confident that even the most inexperienced players are ready to make the step up:

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are looking to resume their 5 point lead at the top of the table this afternoon.

They make the trip to Dundee in the only game of the day.

Rangers cut the gap to their neighbours to 2 points thanks to a 2-0 win over Motherwell on Christmas Eve.

The rivals face off in the Old Firm derby on Saturday.

There's plenty of action for racing fans to get into across the country this afternoon.

The first day of the traditional Christmas Festival kicks off at Leopardstown with the Grade One Racing Post Novice Chase the feature of the day.

They go to post in that one at 2:20pm with the first race off at 12 noon.

There's also racing at Down Royal and Limerick with a 7 race card underway at 11:40am in Lisburn.
