The Portuguese manager has left Saudi side Al Shabab to take over at Molineux - after Gary O'Neil was sacked last weekend.
Pereira has signed an 18-month contract and will take charge of the team for the first time against Leicester on Sunday.
Wolves are 19th in the Premier League - five points from safety.
