SOCCER

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has accused his players of not being 'strong enough'.

The London club were beaten 2-1 by Southampton in the Premier League last night, suffering a second defeat in three games.

Elsewhere last night, Leeds and Everton drew 1-1, with Anthony Gordon on the mark for Everton - he will not be leaving the club.

Fulham were 2-1 winners over Brighton as Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his 5th goal in as many top flight games.

And it ended 1-1 between Crystal Palace and Brentford.

Tonight, champions Manchester City host Nottingham Forest, it's leaders Arsenal versus Aston Villa and Wolves travel to Bournemouth.

Those games kick off at 7.30pm.

Spurs go to West Ham with that match underway at 7.45pm.

Liverpool entertain Newcastle United at Anfield from 8pm.

Darwin Nunez is still suspended for the Reds.

Republic of Ireland defender Andrew Omobamidele was on the mark for Norwich City in their 2-1 win at Birmingham City in the Championship.

That win sends Norwich second behind leaders Sheffield United, who were 4-0 winners at home to Reading.

TENNIS

Britain's Emma Raducanu has been knocked out of the US Open women's singles at the first hurdle.

The 19 year old defending champion lost in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to Alize Cornet of France in New York.

Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina is also out.

She was defeated in the first round by Clara Burel of France.

Two-time winner Naomi Osaka fell in straight sets to American Danielle Collins.

Rafael Nadal made it through to the second round of the men's singles with a four set victory over Rinky Hijikata.
