TENNIS

Men's World tennis number one Novak Djokovic is out of the French Open, after being beaten by fierce rival Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros.

The Serbian lost the first set, before fighting back from 3-love down to take the second.

Djokovic admits he gave himself false hope:

Today at Roland Garros, world number seven Andrey Rublev of Russia takes on Marin Cilic of Croatia in the men's singles quarter-finals.

Eighth seed Casper Ruud faces 19-year-old Dane Holger Rune.

In the women's draw, Veronika Kudermetova faces Daria Kasatkina while world number one Iga Swiatek will take on American Jessica Pegula.

It's set to be an emotional evening at Hampden Park as Ukraine play their first competitive match since the Russian invasion of the country.

The winners of Euro 2020, Italy, and the holders of the Copa America, Argentina, meet in the 2022 Finalissima at Wembley Stadium later.

Roberto Mancini's side beat England on penalties at the national stadium last summer to become European champions.

Defender Giorgio Chiellini will make his final Italy appearance in the game.

England’s Nations League game against Hungary on Saturday won't now be played behind closed doors.

The match in Budapest was due to take place without spectators as punishment for racist abuse aimed at players by Hungarian fans during Euro 2020.

But a loophole in UEFA's rules means approximately 30,000 children will be allowed to attend the game free of charge.

GOLF

Graeme McDowell is among the players in the field for the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series event in London next week.

The former US Open champion will tee it up at the Centurion Club as the Saudi-backed initiative begins.

Former world number one Dustin Johnson is also among the participants.

Six-time major winner Phil Mickelson is not in the list of entrants - but six further players are set to be announced.

GAELIC GAMES

Vikki Wall's move to the AFLW has been confirmed.

The Meath star will join North Melbourne later this year.

Cork's Erika O'Shea is also joining the club ahead of the new season.

The Munster Minor Football Championship final takes place at Pairc Ui Rinn this evening.

Reigning champions Cork take on Kerry, with throw-in at 7.30pm.

RACING

There's a seven flat race card today at The Curragh where the first goes to post at 5.10pm.
