At the Clanard Court Hotel
A blood donation clinic has opened in Athy this afternoon.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Services clinic will remain open until 8pm this evening, at the Clanard Court Hotel in the town.
The clinic will operate on an appointment basis only.
IBTS need to stockpile 12,000 pints of blood before Christmas.
The blood bank has noted many of its usual donors are ill, and Storm Barra forced the closure of several clinics last week.
The clinic will open again tomorrow, from 3.45 - 8pm.
The IBTS notes there is a particular need for people with O-negative, B-negative and A-negative blood, to donate.
