573 applicants are in Celbridge, and 280 in Leixlip.
That, however, is down from around 1,000 applicants.
This may be partly attributable to the increasing number of households in receipt of the Housing Assistance Payment.
People accommodated via the HAP scheme are considered to have their housing need met.
