There are more passport applications from Kildare outsanding that virtually every other county in Ireland.
The Dept. of Foreign Affairs has confirmed 2,700 applications, submitted online from Kildare people are "under process".
There is only one county with a higher number of applications in the system - Down, with 3,500.
The department notes that "The Passport Service has received nearly 500,000 applications in 2021 to date."
The current turnaround times are 10 working days for Simple Adult renewals, 15 working days for Complex renewals, 40 working days for First Time applications on Passport Online and 8 weeks for Passport Express for applications which have been completed correctly.
