IBTS revealed last week that it has having to import blood from the UK.
A four day long blood donation drive is taking place in Naas, beginning this afternoon.
It is being hosted by the IBTS in Monread Community Centre, daily, until Thursday evening.
Donations are being accepted between 3.45pm and 8pm - however, all donors must make appointments on 1850 731 137 before attending the clinic.

Last week, the Irish Blood Transfusion Service revealed it imported a consignment of blood from the UK due to a shortage in supply.
It's the first time the service has had to do this since the 1990s.
115 units of Rh Negative blood groups - O negative, A negative and B negative - left Manchester on Wednesday.
The IBTS says it's activating its contingency arrangement with the NHSBT in England to supplement blood stocks.
