This is the first CervicalCheck report since the pandemic
Kildare has one of the highest uptake rates of cervical screening across the country, according to the first CervicalCheck report published since before the pandemic.
The new report covers April 2020 to March 2022, and has revealed the counties with the lowest and highest uptakes of cervical screenings.
It also highlights the impact of Covid-19 restrictions on the delivery of cervical screening, including the three-month-long pause in 2020.
Kildare has an uptake of 70% or over, with Carlow having the highest uptake of 75%, followed by Wexford, Waterford, Meath, Louth and Leitrim.
Uptake is lowest in Clare, Dublin, Kilkenny, Laois and Mayo, with uptake being in the 60% mark.
