The event will be held at the Leixlip Youth and Community Centre
There's a 'Dad Fest' taking place this weekend in Leixlip to celebrate dads, as well as one taking place in the Athy Football Club on the 19th of October.
Taking place in the Leixlip Youth and Community Centre on Sunday, the event is aimed for dads, grandads, uncles etc. to connect with their children.
Speaking on this morning's Kildare Today show was Louise Daggmoran, Manager of the Leixlip Youth and Community Centre, who detailed the various activities being held in both Leixlip and Athy, such as drumming workshops, kite workshops, a sensory space, indoor sports, and many more.
On Sunday at the Leixlip Youth and Community Centre, the event will run from 11am-3pm.
Next Sunday at the Athy Football Club, the event will run from 11am-3pm.
The Dad Fest is for all ages, from 0-12 years.
There will also be a variety of support groups at the Dad Fest, such as: InSync Youth and Family Services, HEADSUP, HSE Men's Health, Kildare County Childcare Committee, From Lads To Dads, Kildare Young Parents Support Project, Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme, Men's Development Network, and Kildare Mental Health Association.
