ESB Networks says a fault has emerged on the Moyglare Road.
It was detected at 11.17am this morning.
Repairs are underway and are due for completion by 12.30pm.
In an up-date issued at 11.49am, ESB Networks confirmed the number of premises affected rose to 2,337.
It says, however, the fault has been resolved, ahead of schedule.
