The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal, single vehicle road traffic collision on the Clane Road (R403) in Celbridge, which occurred at approximately 10.30pm last night.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, an adult male teenager (19), was fatally injured.
The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
The road remains closed this morning to allow for an examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
