Local Link has also reminded residents that a number of its door-to-door bus services across Kildare still have seats available.
A Kildare councillor has sought clarity on how older people can access the county’s age-friendly services.
Officials say a directory of supports for older people was published in 2024, with a new edition due in 2026.
Most supports do not require a referral.
Older people can contact organisations directly or get guidance from the Kildare Age Friendly Programme Manager at 045 980 200.
The programme itself does not deliver services.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr Vera-Louise Behan (FF) said the service coordinates work across the county including walkability audits, resources, roadshows and the Older People's Council.
Partner groups include County Kildare Leader Partnership, which provides small jobs, a befriending programme and a phone community car service. Their number is 045 895450.
The Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme supports anyone over 65 to continue living independently.
It is free, can be self-referred, and offers a home-based assessment. More information is available on 046 9248899.
Alone also provides a befriending and call-out service locally.
The Athy worker is Rachel Hardiman, who can be contacted at rachael.hardiman@alone.ie.
Local Link has also reminded residents that a number of its door-to-door bus services across Kildare still have seats available.
The routes operate once a week and only require passengers to phone the day before to book.
People simply give their Eircode when calling, and Local Link will confirm pick-up times.
