Councils under-spent by €58 million on Traveller housing over a ten year period.

A human rights groups calling on local authorities to do more to address the lack of Traveller-specific accommodation.

The Irish Human Right's and Equality Commission has appeared before Oireachtas Committee to call for immediate action on the issue.

It recently published a new report which uncovered a €58 million o under-spend on Traveller housing by local authorities over ten years.

Chief Commissioner, Sinead Gibney, joined Ciara Noble on Friday's edition of Kildare Today.
