Both individuals, who are in their 30s, were arrested as part of the investigation and have now been formally charged.
Gardaí have charged a man and a woman in connection with an alleged incident of false imprisonment in Castletown, Celbridge.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Monday, 23rd June 2025.

Detectives, according to the Irish Independent, are investigating whether the suspected kidnapping was orchestrated by another woman in connection with a personal dispute with the victim.
During the victim's ordeal, her captors allegedly threatened to take her to a cemetery in the capital and demanded money from her.
