1,931 littering and dumping complaints were made to Kildare County Council last year.
An anecdotal increase in the frequency of littering was reported all over Kildare.
In an average year, KCC spends around €4 million cleaning up litter, and fly-tipped rubbish, and funding its street warden programmes.
It says 258 fines were issued in 2020.
The council says, in addition, it support 8 anti-dumping initiatives around the county.
