Every garda division in the country, including Kildare, has a bench warrant outstanding for at least 17 years.

Nearly 26,000 bench warrants are over a year outstanding - and one dates back to 1968.

Every garda division in the country, including Kildare, has a bench warrant outstanding for at least 17 years.

The gardai can't track these people down, after they failed to show up in court.

Over 18,000 are in Dublin, while Cork, Donegal and Galway all have over 600.

Former Garda sergeant, Allenwood's Sheelagh Brady, says there are many reasons why they've avoided a court appearance.
