Nationwide, almost 19,000 new homes were commenced, an increase of 152pc.
694 homes have been commenced in Kildare in the first seven months of the year.
That's an increase of 69pc on the same period last year of 410 homes.
Nationwide, 18,974 new homes were commenced, an increase of 152pc on the 7,539 for 2025.
It represents the second highest number of new homes since recording began in 2014.
Just over 3,000 housing commencement notices were received in July, according to Department of Housing figures.
