Pictures showing alleged illegal activity on the Curragh have prompted renewed calls for National Park status.
A Fianna Fáil Senator has written to Government Ministers warning of damage to The Curragh.
The images, shared online, show large holes and burrows dug across parts of the plains.

"Large burrows and holes have been dug across the area to capture rabbits and badgers, causing serious concern about the long term preservation of this unique landscape," Senator Fiona O'Loughlin said.

Senator O’Loughlin has written to the Minister for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, the Minister for Defence, and Kildare County Council.
The letter calls for commitments in the Programme for Government to be accelerated.
These include a conservation and management plan for the Curragh.
National Park status is being proposed to strengthen protections and oversight.
