A Kildare councillor has appealed for dashcam and CCTV footage following a number of incidents in which waste was dumped on roads and set on fire in the Kilteel area.
Fine Gael Councillor Fintan Brett says three incidents have been reported in the wider area over the past nine days, while there have also been reports of a similar incident near Kilbride.
The first occurred on the Punchestown Upper Road, near Kilteel, where material was dumped in the middle of the road and set alight.
A second incident was reported on the Kill Road, heading towards Kilteel, where waste was again left on the road and set on fire.
Cllr Brett told Kfm a further incident occurred on Tuesday night at around 11pm, when a motorist travelling from Crosschapel towards Rathmore spotted a man unloading material from a large white van at the side of the road.
The motorist turned around but the van had left the area by the time they returned.
The dumped material was subsequently set on fire during the night.

Cllr Brett believes the incidents may be connected and is appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Rathmore, Blessington, Eadestown, Kilteel or Kill areas between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday to check their dashcam footage for a large white van.
He described the incidents as "callous" and warned that setting dumped material alight poses a serious risk to road users and surrounding land, particularly given the recent dry conditions.
Some of the waste recovered included bicycles, an old car seat and paint cans.
Cllr Brett is also asking people who have recently paid someone using a large white van to remove household or building waste in the Naas and wider Kildare area to consider whether they may have information which could help identify the person involved.
Kildare County Council's environment section and Gardaí in Naas have been made aware of the incidents.
Anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, or other information, is being asked to report it to Gardaí or Kildare County Council.
