Minister for Education Norma Foley TD has confirmed that approval to proceed to tender for a new school building for Mercy Convent Primary School Naas has been granted.
Fianna Fail Kildare North TD James Lawless said: “I recently had a meeting with Minister for Education Norma Foley TD to specifically raise the need for this new school building for Mercy Convent Primary School here Naas to progress and for the tender process to start as soon as possible.
I was delighted to receive confirmation from Minister Foley late last week that approval to proceed to the tender stage for Mercy Convent Primary School Naas has been granted. The funding for this for this new thirty-two classroom School building has been secured under the Large-Scale Capital Programme”.
Deputy Lawless continued “I would like to thank Principal Cathal Ruane and the Board of Management for their continued determination to push this project forward and I would like to thank the school community for their forbearance with the delays in progressing the new build of their school. However, this is a very positive step forward and a good news day for the Mercy Convent Primary School.”
