Serious injuries were inflicted on the victim and the only information that Gardai have is that the suspect's face was covered and they were carrying a large weapon.

Gardai are investigating a serious assault that happened at Mc Donald's in Newbridge on the Moorefield Road last night at around 9pm.

The suspect fled after an alarm was activated at the premises.
