Increased bacteria levels were detected in the water supply
Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for residents in Pomeroy Park in Rathangan.
House numbers 1-72 have been told to boil their water for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth before use until further notice.
Following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), the notice has been put in place to protect public health after increased bacteria levels were detected in the supply.
Uisce Éireann says drinking water experts are working to lift the notice "as quickly and safe as possible, in consultation with the HSE."
Customers are reminded that water is safe to consume once it has been boiled and cooled.
