An appeal has been lodged against planning permission for a proposed €3 billion data centre complex in Naas, triggering a formal review process that is now before An Coimisiún Pleanála .
The appeal concerns Herbata Limited’s plan to construct six data centre buildings, with demolition works and ancillary site development, on a site adjacent to the M7 motorway and Naas business park.
Kildare County Council granted approval for the scheme in August, subject to 77 conditions.
Herbata Limited, the company behind the project is one party appealing.
Friends of the Irish Environment (with others) and An Taisce are also appealing.
The appeal was officially lodged on 16 September 2025.
An Bord Pleanála has set 28 January 2026 as the target date for its decision.
