Ms. Pender was last seen in August, 1996
Gardaí will launch a search operation in County Offaly today as part of the investigation into the murder of Fiona Pender.
Ms. Pender was last seen at around 6am on the morning of Friday, August 23rd, 1996, at her flat on Church Street in Tullamore, County Offaly.
She was 25 at the time, and 7 months pregnant.
An investigation spanning over 28 years has seen Gardaí discover and collate thousands of documents and reports, and take in 300 statements of evidence.
Fiona's remains have never been found.
Today, Gardaí are launching a search operation on open ground in County Offaly, which will be subject to excavation, technical and forensic exams over the coming days.
They're also appealing to anyone with information who could assist the investigation team, to come forward.
