At present Manor Kilbride is not serviced by public transport
Bus Éireann has confirmed that it will be introducing a new bus route from the Manor Kilbride area to Blessington Community College under the School Transport Scheme for the new school year.
Wicklow TD Jennifer Whitmore commented:“Several parents from the Manor Kilbride community contacted my office asking for assistance in making the case to Bus Éireann for this much needed school bus route.
“The introduction of this new bus route is great news for the families and students living in Manor Kilbride. At present Manor Kilbride is not serviced by public transport and parents were having to drive their children to school.
"This new bus route will not only be of benefit to the local community but will also see a reduction in the number of cars making that school journey every morning and so have a positive impact on the local environment too.”
“Deirdre McCormack, our Social Democrats Local Area Representative for West Wicklow, is continuing to work with local families and Bus Éireann regarding ticket eligibility so that as many local students as possible can benefit from this new school bus route,” added Ms Whitmore.
