Cabinet To Hear Proposals On Relaxing Planning For Extensions And Garden Cabins

James Browne will bring the proposals to Cabinet this morning.

Planning permission for some extensions to homes may be relaxed.

The Housing Minister is considering exempting attic conversions and extensions if they’re to house older relatives.

James Browne will bring the proposals to Cabinet this morning.

He is also expected to update it on plans to exempt cabin homes in back gardens from planning permission.

The move is being considered as an alternative housing option for younger and older generations to live within their own communities.
