Call For Extra Public Holiday To Honour St. Colmcille Gains Momentum

The EU average for public holidays is 12.8 every year - while Ireland only has 10.

Donegal County Council is writing to the Government, advocating for an additional public holiday.

Representatives believe Saint Colmcille should be honoured with a long weekend, as he is the only patron saint of Ireland without one.
