In response, KCC says there is no dedicated funding stream available for CCTV provision, adding that a request was made to each municipal district at the beginning of the year for Local Property Tax funding.
The council noted that applications for CCTV schemes may also be considered for funding under the Anti-Dumping Initiative through the Circular Economy Fund when applications reopen in 2027.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fine Gael Councillor for Naas MD Fintan Brett said every councillor in the county is aware of the issue.
"In the next month or two we will be sitting down to look at the LPT allocation for Naas, you've heard loads of councillors on from Naas and every other MD in the county talking about dumping.
"We spent years trying to get community CCTV and the data protection put blockage after blockage on it.
However, Cllr Brett said that the MD would "embrace" the option of CCTV schemes under the Anti-Dumping Initiative in the new year, introduced to manage dumping in blackspot areas.
"We will be taking them [illegal dumpers] on head-on once we get the funding in the next few months.
