New research from An Post Money confirms that cash remains the top gift choice for Communions and other celebrations in Ireland.
The study found that 52% of people in Kildare give €50 or more to a niece or nephew for their Communion, while 68% do the same for a godchild.
For a family friend’s child, €20 is the most common gift (48%).
Cash is also favoured for other occasions, with 80% of 35-44-year-olds opting for it as a child’s birthday gift.
