The funding is part of a nationwide allocation of €2,580,795.85 targeted at assisting local authorities to create a pipeline of significant, well-developed projects in local towns across Ireland.
In Monasterevin, the funding will be directed toward redeveloping a town centre area, which will include new paving, enhanced signage, seating, and improved lighting.
The Clane funding will allow for consultants to be engaged to prepare appropriate pre-development plans, including for the proposed expansion of existing recreational routes, that could be used for cycling, hiking or mountain-biking.
