Gardaí in Kildare have stopped a motorist who had been on a learner's permit for 16 years.
The unaccompanied driver was among a number of motorists who were halted in a recent checkpoint by Naas Roads Policing Unit.
Their vehicle was seized during the operation.
Another driver was detected with cocaine and cannabis in their system, while three other vehicles were seized.
Two of these seizures were related to licensing offences rendering their insurances void, and one for motor tax being 300 days out of date.
All offences will result in court proceedings and/or Fixed Charge Penalty Notices.
Naas RPU carried out the "multi-agency checkpoint" along with the Road Safety Authority.
On social media, Gardaí warned that these offences are "not minor technicalities" while stressing the importance of safe driving on Kildare roads.
